In a remarkable announcement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh unveiled an ambitious plan to provide permanent housing to seven lakh residents of the state. The announcement was made during the ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’ organized at the village of Thekwa in Rajnandgaon.
During this event, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presided over the conference, where 1867 development works worth a staggering Rs 355.23 crore were inaugurated. Additionally, Bhoomi Pujan ceremonies were conducted, benefitting the residents of Rajnandgaon, and material worth Rs 3 crore 25 lakh was distributed to further social initiatives.
Chief Guest Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, lauded the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to uplifting the marginalized and empowering the state’s farmers and backward communities. He emphasized the government’s dedication to creating an inclusive India where even the poorest of the poor feel a sense of ownership in the country.
Kharge highlighted some of the significant achievements of the Chhattisgarh government, including the purchase of one lakh seven thousand metric tonnes of paddy from farmers, the waiver of loans for 19 lakh farmers, and the implementation of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, ensuring fair prices for crops.
The Leader of Opposition also commended Chhattisgarh’s Millet Mission, which received praise from the Central Government. He noted that the state’s efforts have led to significant progress in agriculture and the welfare of farmers.
Reflecting on the state’s history, Kharge mentioned the role of Chhattisgarh in the industrial development of India. The state has witnessed the establishment of industries, power plants, and steel plants, contributing significantly to employment generation and industrial growth.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his gratitude to the artists and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh, emphasizing the importance of culture and tradition in the state. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to food security, with the issuance of ration cards and the purchase of 20 quintals per acre of paddy from farmers.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chhattisgarh government continued to support farmers by purchasing their produce. Additionally, the government’s initiatives have included financial support for cow herders, farmers, and the unemployed.
Chief Minister Baghel announced plans to provide permanent housing to seven lakh residents, with 47 thousand new houseless beneficiaries identified in a recent socio-economic survey set to benefit from this initiative.
In the field of education, Chhattisgarh has made significant strides with the recruitment of 30 thousand teachers, the reinstatement of the old pension scheme, and increased honorarium for Kotwars, Mitanins, and Anganwadi workers.
The ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’ served as a platform to highlight the state’s dedication to development, social welfare, and the well-being of its residents. It marked a significant step towards realizing Chhattisgarh’s vision of an inclusive and prosperous state.
Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev, along with various ministers and public representatives, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh.
