The Raipur Police have successfully apprehended a robbery suspect involved in a recent incident in the Kotwali area near Bairen Bazaar. The suspect, identified as Samir alias Mukhtar Khan, had previously been incarcerated for involvement in theft cases. In this latest case, he was implicated in a brazen daytime robbery.
Samir Khan, who was previously known to the authorities, was arrested by the police following a thorough investigation into the robbery incident. The incident involved Samir Khan allegedly pushing a pedestrian from his two-wheeler, robbing him, and then making a quick escape.
The arrest of Samir Khan led to the recovery of a substantial sum of stolen cash, amounting to Rs 14,700, along with other personal belongings, including a tiffin box, bag, and agency key. Additionally, the active vehicle, an Activa scooter bearing registration CG/04/NG/1923, was seized as it was reportedly used in the commission of the crime.
The accused faces charges under Section 394 and Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, pertaining to robbery. The Kotwali Police Station registered the case under crime reference number 485/23, ensuring that the legal process is initiated against the suspect.
