In a critical operation in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh, security forces successfully intercepted and neutralized an imminent threat orchestrated by Naxalites. The insurgents had tactically planted four separate Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) totaling 10 kilograms near Loha village, situated under the jurisdiction of Kirandul police station, aiming to target security personnel. Their nefarious plan was thwarted by vigilant soldiers.
According to available reports, a unit from the Central Industrial Security Force was conducting routine patrolling on Tuesday as part of the ongoing anti-Naxalite initiative. During their patrol, the troops noticed a suspicious wire protruding from the ground near Loha village, close to the intersection leading towards Dhobhi Ghat and Giraah Sea Mining areas.
Reacting promptly, the soldiers raised an alarm and promptly alerted the Superintendent of Police (SP). The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDS) team was swiftly dispatched from Dantewada to the location. Upon inspection, the joint team recovered one IED weighing five kilograms, two IEDs each weighing two kilograms, and one command-triggered IED weighing one kilogram from the site. These devices were meticulously defused on the spot by the security personnel, averting a potential catastrophe.
The strategic detection and neutralization of these planted IEDs by the Central Industrial Security Force and the BDS team underscore their vigilance and commitment to thwarting Naxalite threats in the region. The timely intervention and effective collaboration between security units prevented any untoward incident and ensured the safety of both the security forces and civilians in the area.
