In a recent meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh Junior Doctors Association brought forward their demands, including a pay increase to match that of their peers in other states across India.
The CM assured the doctors that their demands would be considered and addressed in a timely manner.
However, it is disheartening to see healthcare professionals using their critical role in saving lives as leverage to demand higher pay. While it’s understandable that they want to be fairly compensated, it sets a dangerous precedent for others, such as farmers and skilled workers, to follow suit and make demands of their own. This could result in an increase in costs for the state and the public.
It’s important to find a solution that benefits both the junior doctors and the state, without compromising the financial stability of Chhattisgarh.
