A case of triple talaq has emerged in Chhattisgarh, and the police in Manendragarh have arrested a suspect from the Ardhi colony in Raipur. The suspect’s wife filed a complaint at the Manendragarh police station against him.
According to sources, the 22-year-old woman from Manendragarh got married to Mohammad Sharif (36 years old) in a Muslim ceremony in Manendragarh on September 9th of last year in the Ardhi colony of Boriyakurd. The woman had dry skin, which was disclosed to the groom’s family before the wedding. After the wedding, the woman came to live in Raipur. Approximately a month later, Sharif left her at her parent’s home and did not return. Then, on January 17th of this year, he divorced her by saying “talaq” three times, claiming that her skin condition was unacceptable to him, and that he would marry someone else. The woman lodged a complaint with the police in Manendragarh on February 2nd, and the suspect was arrested today.
