Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented the state budget and made several significant announcements for the betterment of all sections of society. In his speech, he highlighted important measures to improve the living conditions of the people. The following are some of the major announcements made by the Chief Minister:
- Increase in honorarium: The honorarium of Anganwadi workers has been increased from Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 10,000 per month, and the honorarium of Anganwadi assistants has been increased from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 per month.
- Destitute Pension: The Chief Minister announced an increase in the Destitute Pension from Rs. 350 per month to Rs. 500 per month.
- Light Metro operation: The Light Metro operation from Nava Raipur to Durg has been approved, which will facilitate faster and convenient transportation.
- Naveen Swami Atmanand English medium schools: 101 Naveen Swami Atmanand English medium schools will be established to provide quality education to students.
- New medical colleges: New medical colleges will be opened in Manendragarh, Janjgir, Kabirdham and Geedam, which will benefit the students pursuing medical education.
- Increase in honorarium: The Chief Minister also announced an increase in the honorarium of mid-day meal cooks from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,800 per month, and Village Patels will receive an honorarium of Rs. 3,000 per month instead of Rs. 2,000.
- Home guards: There will be an increase in the honorarium of home guards to improve their standard of living.
