An appalling incident involving a police inspector has come to light in the capital city. The inspector, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, forcibly entered a women’s hostel and physically assaulted a tribal girl while threatening to kidnap her and using abusive language. The incident took place in the Devendra Nagar police station area, and was captured on CCTV.
In response to the incident, SSP Prashant Aggarwal took immediate action and suspended Inspector Rakesh Choubey, who was posted at Traffic Headquarters Raipur in the Devendra Nagar police station area. Aggarwal stated that Choubey’s indiscipline and indecent conduct had tarnished the image of the police department. As a result, Choubey has been suspended and attached to the Reserve Center Raipur.
