Police in the capital have arrested two individuals for conducting online betting during an IPL match. Acting on information received from an informant, a police team went to the Charoda Cricket Ground under the Dharsinwa police station area on Saturday and caught the two bookies. During interrogation, the suspects were identified as Anurag Thakur alias Montu Thakur, a resident of Khamtarai, and a minor. The police found that they were betting on the IPL match between Punjab Kolkata Knights vs Gujarat Titans using laptops and mobile phones.
The suspects were taken into custody, and the police seized 1 laptop, 8 mobile phones, and Jumla cash worth approximately Rs. The arrests were made under the direction of senior officers, and the police team was led by the station in-charge of Dharsinwa. The suspects are facing charges related to online betting during the IPL match.
