Chhattisgarh’s prominent IAS officer, Ranu Sahu, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged coal scam. This comes after a nearly 24-hour-long investigation and a raid at her official residence in Devendra Nagar. Ranu Sahu’s involvement in illegal coal recovery is under suspicion, leading to her arrest and subsequent presentation in Raipur’s special court.
Ranu Sahu is the second IAS officer from Chhattisgarh to be apprehended by the ED. Previously, Sameer Vishnoi faced a similar fate and remains in jail. The ED has conducted multiple raids, including at Sahu’s Raigarh bungalow and other locations while she served as Raigarh collector. Even her husband, JP Maurya, also an IAS officer, has been interrogated by the ED.
