Representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took a proactive stance today, as they surrounded the offices of Shailesh Pandey, the MLA from Bilaspur, and Renu Jogi, the MLA from Kota, in order to seek accountability for their actions and the state of public issues over the past five years. This move comes as both legislators have repeatedly been absent from their constituencies and offices, prompting the need for clarification on their actions and inaction.
In the past five years, Shailesh Pandey, the MLA from Bilaspur, has come under scrutiny for unauthorized sand mining on the banks of the Sheonath River, which has led to significant illegal excavation and consequently resulted in 17 deaths in five years, and an additional 35 days of tragedy. The crumbling condition of schools in Bilaspur, collapsing roofs of schools, a deteriorating healthcare system in Bilaspur Vidhan Sabha, redirecting patients from SIMS and the district hospital to private hospitals, inadequate maternity facilities at CHCs along with the absence of a blood bank, initiating road and drain digging before monsoons without completion, the persisting housing issue for those affected by the Corona crisis in Bilaspur city, the inability of Kota MLA Renu Jogi’s constituency residents to afford electricity bills due to inflated charges and subsequent allegations of meter theft by impoverished households, the absorption of previously absorbed Gram Panchayats (Mangla, Sirgitthi, Ameri, Lingiyadih, among others) into Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, and further negligence of the civic amenities were some of the key points AAP representatives demanded clarification on.
In today’s event, AAP representatives, including Priyanka Shukla, Jasveer Singh, Ujjwala Karade, Khagesh Chandrakar, Pramod Patel, Vinay Jaiswal, Arvind Pandey, Dharm Bhargav, Gopal Yadav, Hero Sonvani, Dhananjay Kashyap, Madhav Sahu, Sanjay Agrawal, Leelavati, Shankaracharya, Basant Patwari, Irfan Siddiqui, Shankar Kashyap, Reva Shankar Sahu, Ishwar Chandel, Rakesh Loniya, Gulam Gaus, Jakir Ali, Santosh Banjare, Nurul Huda, Sanjay Srivastava, Sanjay Gadheval, Chandra Sahu, Manoj Thakur, Arvind Kumar Pandey, Vivek Yadav, Aditya Kishan Devangan, Ramesh Sahu, Jethu Prasad Lahre, Jasararam, Khagesh Kevat, Chinta Devi, Manpreet Kaur, Chandraprakash Kaushik, S.N. This assembly aimed to address the aforementioned issues and demand swift resolution.
