Raipur:
The BJP State General Secretary, OP Chowdhary, has taken a swipe at the Congress party, citing the impressive strides made by the Modi government in the development of Chhattisgarh’s railway infrastructure. Chowdhary emphasized that the Modi government has allocated six times more budget to Chhattisgarh for railway development than the previous UPA government. This commitment is reflected in the ongoing modernization of Chhattisgarh’s railway stations, a project that entails an investment exceeding 1400 crores. Chowdhary further suggested that the Congress’s apprehension regarding developmental initiatives underscores their unease with the advancement achieved under the Modi government.
Chowdhary highlighted the stark contrast between the Congress’s budget allocation for railways during their tenure and the increased funding by the Modi government. He pointed out that during the Congress government’s regime, a meager Rs 311 crore was allocated for railways from 2009 to 2014. In contrast, the budget allocation for railways during the period from 2014 to 2019 under the Modi government witnessed a substantial surge, reaching Rs 6 crore, signifying a remarkable doubling of funding. Furthermore, Chowdhary noted that the budget for the year 2023, under the Modi government, is nearly nine times larger compared to the year 2012-2013, a pivotal period during the Congress’s reign.
Chowdhary emphasized the significance of modernizing the railway system to propel India towards becoming a developed nation. While acknowledging the challenges that may arise during the execution of such ambitious projects, Chowdhary expressed optimism that the positive impacts of strengthening railway infrastructure would eventually outweigh these challenges. He assured the public that the historical efforts to enhance railway facilities and infrastructure would yield substantial benefits for the masses in the future.
Taking a direct swipe at the Congress, Chowdhary questioned their track record over the past seven decades. He challenged the Congress’s claims of progress in the railway sector and accused them of merely nibbling away at the nation’s potential. Chowdhary asserted that the Modi government’s resolute focus on railway development, reflected in the nine-fold budget increase, underscores the contrast between the Congress’s inaction and the proactive approach of the present government. He posited that the robust budget allocation and developmental initiatives undertaken by the Modi government have left Congress and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel feeling uneasy, leading to their evident discomfort. Chowdhary confidently predicted that the forthcoming days will witness the people of Chhattisgarh endorsing the transformative railway developments under the Modi government.
