O.P. Chaudhary, the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh, has shed light on ongoing irregularities in the state’s PCS (Public Civil Services) examinations. He has called for a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into these allegations of cheating and malpractice, stating that the examination results have left the youth of Chhattisgarh disillusioned.
Addressing journalists during a press conference held at the BJP office in Raipur, Chaudhary expressed deep concern over the challenges faced by the state’s youth. He highlighted that lakhs of young aspirants, hailing from villages and towns across Chhattisgarh, migrate to larger cities to prepare for competitive exams. Families invest their savings and livelihoods in supporting these aspirants.
Chaudhary argued that the Congress-led state government in Chhattisgarh has not spared even these young individuals. He asserted that the government, which he referred to as a “mafia government,” has exerted control over every facet of life in the state, leaving no room for transparency or accountability.
The BJP State President outlined specific issues with the recent PCS examination results, shedding light on alleged discrepancies. He cited an example where a question in the examination asked candidates to describe the contribution of Veer Hanuman Singh during the 1857 revolt. Instead of mentioning Veer Hanuman Singh, one candidate wrote Veer Narayan Singh. While both figures made significant contributions to India’s history, the candidate who mentioned Veer Hanuman Singh received a higher score. Chaudhary questioned why both candidates did not receive equal marks for providing accurate historical information.
Chaudhary went on to describe other irregularities in the evaluation process, including instances where candidates received fewer marks for correct answers and where answer sheets with entire pages left blank were awarded full marks. He emphasized that such discrepancies cast doubt on the integrity of the examination process.
Furthermore, Chaudhary raised concerns about the scoring process for answer sheets at different levels, such as examiner, deputy head examiner, and head examiner. He questioned how it was possible for all levels of assessment to award identical marks, suggesting either a lack of evaluation at all levels or a significant oversight in the process.
Chaudhary demanded a thorough investigation by the CBI to uncover any potential cheating, corruption, or irregularities in the PCS examinations. He stressed that the examination results have shattered the aspirations of Chhattisgarh’s youth and that justice must prevail.
The BJP’s allegations have fueled discussions about the transparency and fairness of competitive examinations in Chhattisgarh, highlighting the importance of maintaining the integrity of such processes in ensuring opportunities for the state’s aspiring youth.
