Chhattisgarh – In a relentless pursuit of promoting sports excellence, Chhattisgarh, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, is preparing to present yet another monumental gift to its people – the Tennis Sports Academy. Following the establishment of world-class International Cricket and Hockey Stadiums in the state, this state-of-the-art academy is poised to further elevate the sporting landscape.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel is scheduled to inaugurate the Tennis Sports Academy, including its hostel and administrative building, on Wednesday, 27th September. The event will witness the presence of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Umesh Patel and Public Works Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu. This technical academy, constructed at a cost of Rs 17.15 crore in Labhandi, Raipur, will mark a pioneering milestone as Chhattisgarh’s first and largest tennis academy.
Spanning across 4 sprawling acres, the Tennis Sports Academy comprises three essential components. The first section is the administrative building, a three-story structure equipped with rooms, halls, a gym, a VIP lounge, and a media center with a seating capacity of 500. The second part consists of the academy’s hostel building, another three-story edifice housing offices, a superintendent’s room, parking facilities, a kitchen, and dining spaces. Lastly, the main stadium, with a seating capacity of 2500 spectators, forms the third component.
Notable Features of the Tennis Academy:
- Provision for 1 main tennis court (synthetic) and 5 practice tennis courts (synthetic).
- The academy spans 4 acres in total.
- Utilizes an ultra-cushion 9-layer synthetic surface for the tennis court.
- Main tennis court with a spectator capacity of 2000 and a VIP spectator area under the main building with a capacity of 500.
- Stadium chairs for spectator seating.
- A parking facility with a capacity for 150 vehicles beneath the stadium.
- High-quality lighting, including 40,000-watt capacity lights of 1500 lux level under the main tennis court and 4900-watt capacity lights of 500 lux level under each practice court to meet international standards.
- A 315 KV substation for uninterrupted power supply and a 165 KVA capacity DG set for emergency power.
- Air conditioning in the hostel and main building.
- Hostel building comprising 46 rooms, accommodating 92 players.
- A dedicated dining hall for players.
