Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has conducted the Bhoomi Pujan (ground-breaking ceremony) for the new Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan. The construction of this state-of-the-art facility, spanning 3.14 acres and with a budget of Rs 49 crore 50 lakh, is set to take place in Sector 19 of Nava Raipur. In a symbolic act, Shri Baghel planted a Swarn Champa sapling in the designated area for the Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan and performed rituals to invoke blessings from Mother Earth for the prosperity of the state and the well-being of farmers.
The new Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan will encompass five stories and will serve as a central hub for various agriculture-related departments, including the Directorate of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture and Field Forestry, Watershed Management, Livestock Development, and Fisheries. Additionally, the offices of the Agriculture Minister and Agriculture Production Commissioner will be housed within the building. This integration of agricultural services and resources will enhance coordination among departmental institutions, expedite agricultural development initiatives, and streamline the process of addressing farmers’ concerns from across the state.
The construction of the Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan is expected to foster agricultural development in the state by centralizing key agricultural departments and support functions, creating a more efficient and accessible platform for addressing farmers’ needs. The long-term vision for the Krishi Bhawan is to evolve into an ‘Integrated Resource Centre’ for the advancement of the agriculture sector.
The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan was attended by several dignitaries, including Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, and other government officials. The event marked a significant step in Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its agricultural sector and support the welfare of farmers.
