Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has bestowed a gift of significant development projects worth over Rs 1021 crore upon the city of Raipur. The inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremonies took place in honor of these projects, signifying a significant step towards enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Baghel addressed the citizens of Raipur, emphasizing that the state government is committed to improving public welfare. He noted that these development initiatives have been approved with the aim of benefiting everyone in the city. In the past three months alone, the Chhattisgarh government has inaugurated and initiated development projects worth Rs 3600 crore, ensuring substantial benefits for the people of the state.
Chief Minister Baghel highlighted the construction of the Kharun River Front, a new recreational area for city residents to enjoy quality time with their families. He mentioned that the government’s goal, inspired by Chhattisgarh’s visionary leader Mr. Khubchand Baghel, is to increase the income of the people and continually invest in infrastructure development.
Public Works Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, who was present at the event, extended his congratulations to the people of Raipur for the significant gift of development works exceeding one thousand crores. He emphasized the government’s efforts in expanding road and bridge networks throughout the state, effectively addressing transportation challenges and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
The ceremony, held at Tatyapara New Market in Raipur, was attended by various dignitaries, including Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Girish Dewangan, Waqf Board Chairman Salam Rizvi, District Panchayat President Domeshwari Verma, Additional Chief Secretary Subrata Sahu, and Public Works Department Secretary Alok Katiyar, along with other public representatives and officials.
The following projects had their bhoomi pujan (groundbreaking) ceremonies during the event:
- Road widening work from Sharda Chowk to Tatyapara Chowk, spanning 510 meters with a construction cost of Rs 134.66 crore.
- Construction of a 6-lane flyover bridge from Ring Road No. 1 and Telibandha Chowk to Agrasen Dham Chowk Labhandi, costing Rs 473.13 crore.
- Construction, development, and beautification of Kharun River Front in Mahadevghat and Chandnidih in Raipur city, with a length of 1.55 km and a construction cost of Rs 197.36 crore.
- Construction of a 6-lane road connecting the airport to Mana VIP Expressway (Temari), including an elevated corridor, costing Rs 156.27 crore.
- Construction of a flyover on National Highway-53 near Udyog Bhawan Mahavir Nagar on Ring Road No. 1, with a cost of Rs 42.42 crore.
- Construction of a Modern Tehsil Office Building under the Revenue and Disaster Department, with a budget of Rs 11.50 crore.
- Construction of the head office building of Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) in Nava Raipur Sector 24 Kayabandha.
