A disturbing video capturing a heated argument between a passenger and a TADA driver in Singapore has surfaced online, drawing widespread condemnation for the driver’s racist remarks towards the female passenger. The incident reportedly unfolded due to a dispute over the destination address and a wrong route.
The passenger, identified as Jan Hoeden, shared the incident on social media, where she expressed her dismay, stating, “This man is being racist because the notification went on the wrong route. He blamed me. Then he called me an Indian.” In the video, the driver can be heard making derogatory comments, saying, “You are Indian, and I am Chinese. People know that you are Indian, I am Chinese. You are the very…worst customer.”

Jan Hoeden clarified her identity as a Singaporean-Eurasian, emphasizing, “I am Singapore Eurasian, not Indian,” and reminding the driver that there are Singaporean-Indians as well. She firmly labeled his behavior as racist.
During the argument, the driver, in broken English, discussed Jan’s 9-year-old daughter, making alleged body-shaming comments. He remarked, “Your baby is less than 1.35m tall…You don’t argue with me; the meter is 1.35 only.” When Jan criticized the driver’s conduct and verbal abuse, he responded provocatively, saying, “Complaints are good. Because you are very illegal.”
The video has sparked outrage on social media, with many users condemning the driver’s behavior and expressing support for Jan Hoeden and her daughter.
