This illicit drug consignment had reportedly been transported to Raipur from Punjab and was being distributed to truck drivers and their helpers along the National Highway.
On September 24, the Kabir Nagar Police received intelligence regarding the sale of drugs, originating from Punjab, along the National Highway. Upon reaching the designated area, the police encountered a young man standing beside a motorcycle. A thorough search of the vehicle’s visor revealed hidden drug paraphernalia concealed within polythene material.
The arrested individual has been identified as 24-year-old Nishant Singh Sandhu, a resident of the Sondongri area. The police investigation has also uncovered the names of two additional suspects, Gurucharan Singh and Malkit Singh, both of whom are currently evading law enforcement. All three suspects are believed to be connected through transportation networks.
The primary clientele for these narcotics are truck drivers and their helpers, who frequently take breaks at dhabas and depots located on the outskirts of the city. The accused individuals are known to operate within these areas, targeting the rest stops frequented by their intended customers.
