Amit Jogi, the State President of Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J), has officially filed his nomination from the Patan constituency, pledging to combat corruption in the upcoming election. Jogi emphasizes that this election is not a contest against an individual named ‘Bhupesh’ but a battle against the prevailing corruption.
He characterizes this electoral campaign as a showdown between the influential ‘Dao family’ and the rights of the underprivileged, including the poor, SC-ST, and MBC classes of Patan. Jogi sees himself as the face of the campaign, with the real candidates being the residents of Patan who have suffered from various issues, such as the PSC scam, housing-related challenges, broken promises, regularization hurdles, and the impact of liquor bans.
Despite having the option to contest from ‘safe’ seats in three different assemblies or even two seats, Jogi has decided to run for election from Patan alone in response to the requests of the local population. The decision to contest in Patan comes after holding three significant meetings in the Patan assembly constituency over the past month.
Jogi is determined to bring about change and end the longstanding practice of the same family’s control over Patan. The campaign promises a shift in the political landscape, and the people of Patan are hopeful for victory.
