Priyanka Gandhi, Congress leader, arrived in Bilaspur and addressed a large gathering in support of the party. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, and candidates from all six assembly constituencies in the district joined her at the event. Following the rally, all the candidates are scheduled to file their nominations.
In her address, Priyanka Gandhi highlighted several key promises and initiatives, including:
- A subsidy of Rs 500 on cylinder refills.
- Free electricity up to 200 units per month; higher consumption will also enjoy this benefit.
- Loan waivers for those associated with women self-help groups and the Saksham scheme.
- The establishment of 700 new rural industrial parks.
- The transformation of all government schools into English and Hindi medium schools under the Swami Atmanand scheme.
- Free medical treatment for road and accident victims.
- Loan waivers for 6,600 vehicle owners connected to the transport business, totaling Rs 726 crore, up until 2018.
- Commitment to purchase ‘Tivara’ crops at MSP.
