Raipur, Chhattisgarh: In an effort to ensure the peaceful completion of the Ganesh immersion tableau, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has issued directives to all gazetted officers within the Raipur district, as well as police station in-charges, and officers and employees of the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU). The instructions call for effective action against criminal elements and mischievous individuals.
In response to these instructions, 12 special teams comprised of joint staff from police stations/posts and the ACCU have been established and deployed under the supervision of senior officers. These teams are stationed at key intersections, sensitive areas, narrow streets, and along the route of the Ganesh immersion procession. Their primary mission is to proactively monitor potential criminal activity and take decisive action to maintain public safety.
During the Ganesh Visarjan tableau, the special teams diligently observed and identified suspicious individuals. Several individuals were subjected to searches, leading to the recovery of items such as knives, razor blades, screwdrivers, and scissors. These confiscated items were promptly handed over to the local police station. A total of 52 individuals, including minors, were subjected to legal action under various acts, including the Arms Act, Excise Act, NDPS Act, theft-related offenses, and other restrictive sections.
In line with the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal, these security measures aim to safeguard public order and ensure the peaceful conclusion of the Ganesh immersion procession.
