A horrific incident of gang rape has come to light in Abhanpur, Chhattisgarh. According to the information received, four accused first promised to help a woman in selling her land, after which they took the woman to a farm house and gang-raped her. After the incident, all the accused absconded.
The victim, who works as a domestic worker, approached Abhanpur police station on Tuesday to report the crime. She stated that she had inherited a piece of land from her husband, but since it was an old property, she was unable to locate its exact whereabouts. She subsequently came into contact with some local youths who offered to assist her in selling the land.
On the pretext of showing her the land, the accused lured the woman to a farm house. Upon finding her alone, they took advantage of the situation and gang-raped her. The woman was threatened with death if she revealed the incident to anyone, which is why she delayed reporting it to the police.
Abhanpur police have registered an FIR based on the woman’s complaint and are actively searching for the absconding accused. The police are avoiding revealing the names of the accused at this stage, stating that they will do so only after their arrest.
This incident highlights the vulnerability of women in rural areas and the need for stricter enforcement of laws against sexual violence. It is also a reminder of the importance of speaking up against such crimes and seeking immediate help from the authorities.
