On November 4, 2023, the Honorable Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Government of India, is scheduled to visit Durg, Chhattisgarh, for an important event. In anticipation of this visit, Durg Police have issued a set of security measures and advisories to ensure a smooth and safe visit for the Prime Minister.
Parking Plan:
To facilitate the movement of vehicles and ensure the safety and security of the event, a comprehensive parking plan has been put in place. Vehicles coming from different directions have been allocated specific parking areas, allowing attendees to park their vehicles and proceed on foot to the program venue.
- Vehicles coming from Rajnandgaon and Balod will park in areas like Pulgaon Chowk, Potia Chowk, Maharaja Chowk, in front of Sony Furniture, Mini Stadium Padmanabhpur, Hockey Ground, Civil Line, and walk to the event venue.
- Vehicles arriving from Patan and Utai will find parking at locations such as MD Chowk, Jail Tiraha, Police Line, and Girls College, where attendees will then walk to the program venue.
- Those coming from Nehru Nagar will be directed to park at Y Shape Bridge, Science College, Malviya Nagar Chowk, SC/ST Boys Hostel, Khalsa Public School, and make their way on foot to the program venue.
- Vehicles from Dhamdha will park at designated areas like Green Chowk, Railway Station, Malviya Nagar, and Polytechnic College, with attendees proceeding to the venue on foot.
- Pass holders who will sit on the stage at Ravi Shankar Stadium and welcome the Prime Minister are advised to park their vehicles at Surana College and walk to the venue.
- Those attending the event at Jayanti Stadium Helipad for a welcome are instructed to park their vehicles in the football ground behind the petrol pump from DPS Chowk.
Banned Content:
As a security measure, specific items have been banned from the event venue. Attendees are prohibited from carrying items such as explosive materials, flammable substances, food items, and sharp objects. This restriction is in place to ensure the safety of all participants.
Alternative Routes:
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes on the Very Very Important Person (VVIP) route leading to hospitals, schools, offices, and other essential destinations. Alternative routes have been suggested to manage traffic effectively and minimize disruptions.
Restricted Route:
On November 4, entry of heavy vehicles inside Durg city will be completely banned. This restriction is implemented to streamline traffic and ensure the security of the event.
