The recent Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections concluded with a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), securing a sweeping triumph with an impressive 163 seats out of the 230 assembly constituencies in the state.
As the dust settles from the electoral fervor, attention now shifts to the selection of the Chief Ministerial candidate. The much-anticipated deliberations began promptly with the arrival of central observers from Bhopal. A pivotal meeting convened at the Bharatiya Janata Party state office gathered the core group of observers alongside eminent party leaders.
The crucial gathering saw National Co-Organization General Secretary Shivprakash and observers Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, National President of OBC Morcha Dr. K. Laxman, National Secretary Asha Lakra, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, State President Vishnudatt Sharma, Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, and State Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma in attendance.
Amidst these deliberations, the suspense surrounding the next Chief Ministerial face intensified. Prior to the core group meeting, the trio of observers, including Khattar, Laxman, and Lakra, engaged in discussions with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the CM House. Welcoming them with a bouquet of flowers, Chouhan extended his greetings, setting the stage for the subsequent discussions at the BJP office.
The observers proceeded to convene with the party’s MLAs after the ongoing high-level talks with senior BJP leaders, marking a significant phase in the determination of Madhya Pradesh’s next Chief Ministerial candidate.
