Raipur authorities succeeded in apprehending a husband-wife duo, Avinash Giri Goswami and Bindiya Goswami, involved in a significant theft case within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. The couple was taken into custody following the recovery of stolen cash amounting to Rs 11,69,000, along with gold jewellery, a two-wheeler, and various household items purchased using the illicitly acquired funds, totaling Rs 20,00,000.
The diligent efforts of the Raipur police led to the apprehension of the accused, and subsequent investigations resulted in the recovery of the stolen cash, valuable gold jewellery, and other assets. The recovered items collectively amounted to Rs 20 lakh.
Following due legal procedures, the accused couple was transferred to judicial custody from the Police Station Civil Lines. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the burglary case to gather more evidence and ascertain additional details regarding the theft.
