In a recent press conference held in Raipur, the Shiv Sena of the Uddhav Thackeray faction has issued a decree that is causing havoc in the state of Chhattisgarh. The party announced its plan to run a campaign on the lines of Maharashtra to drive away non-Chhattisgarhians from the state and protect the original residents. This move comes just a year before the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.
State chief Anand Singh Malhotra said that the Shiv Sena will work to preserve the dignity, rights, Sanskrit, civilization, and lifestyle of the people of Chhattisgarhi. According to Malhotra, the campaign will be run in Chhattisgarh only under the government’s given definition of a native. The Shiv Sena has also warned to raise the issue of conversions happening in the state and will launch a campaign to bring back people who left Hinduism and converted to other religions.
The Shiv Sena has demanded to make Greater Raipur by merging Durg-Bhilai and Raipur Corporation areas. They also want to ensure that 80 percent of the local citizens are employed in the factories of Chhattisgarh. Men’s help groups should be formed and connected with the Narva, Ghurva, Badi scheme. Liquor should be banned in the state.
This move by the Shiv Sena has received criticism from various quarters, with many questioning the legality and morality of driving away non-Chhattisgarhians from the state. The Shiv Sena’s campaign is being seen as a big bet, especially in light of the upcoming elections.
It remains to be seen how the campaign will be received by the people of Chhattisgarh and whether it will have any impact on the election outcome. However, the Shiv Sena’s announcement has certainly created a stir in the state and is likely to be a topic of debate in the coming days.
