Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Shri Bhupesh Baghel, marked the beginning of three significant projects – ‘Commercial Hub,’ ‘Aerocity,’ and ‘Shaheed Memorial’ – in a ceremony held at Sector-35 of Nava Raipur Atalnagar. These projects are poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing investment, settlement, commercial activities, and passenger facilities in the region.
Commercial Hub: Spread across 1,083 acres in Sectors 23, 24, 34, 35, and 40, the ‘Commercial Hub’ aims to promote investment and commerce in Nava Raipur. In the first phase, approximately 1,000 wholesale commercial shops catering to 20 different businesses will be constructed. These shops will cover various sectors, including wholesale grocery, incense sticks, gunny bags, pulse mills, and paper trade. The state government has allocated Rs 5 crore in the 2023-24 fiscal year for this project. The development of city-level infrastructure and infrastructure in the initial 125 acres will require an investment of Rs 195.51 crore. Located along National Highway No. 30, the designated land enjoys railway connectivity and proximity to the Bharat Mala Project. It is approximately 12 km away from Swami Vivekananda Airport.
Aerocity: The ‘Aerocity’ project, spanning 216.63 acres in villages Baroda and Ramchandi near Swami Vivekananda Airport, aims to enhance passenger facilities, develop the airport area commercially, and generate employment opportunities. The first phase will involve the development of about 24.85 acres of government-owned land, which will include commercial plots, a shopping complex, and provisions for a hotel. The state government has allocated Rs 2 crore for the development of Aerocity in the 2023-24 fiscal year.
Shaheed Memorial: In the VIP battalion area of village Parsada (Sector-3) in Nava Raipur Atalnagar, a 13-acre memorial will be established to honor martyrs. This proposed project includes the construction of a Martyr Memorial, Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti Memorial, Memorial Museum, Parade Ground, Bugler platform, galleries, barracks, parking facilities, fountains, and more. Administrative approval for Rs 47.75 crore has been granted by the state government for this initiative.
These projects underscore the commitment of the Chhattisgarh government to promote growth, development, and recognition of the sacrifices made by martyrs in the region. The initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to the economic and infrastructural development of Nava Raipur Atalnagar.
Presiding over the foundation stone-laying ceremony for these projects, Housing and Environment Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar highlighted their importance. The event saw the presence of Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, MLA Shri Dhanendra Sahu, Special Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri Rakesh Gupta, and officials from the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce.
