In a momentous event, the Director-General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, formally inaugurated the highly anticipated All India Thal Sainik Camp. The grand inauguration took place at the iconic Cariappa Parade Ground, located in Delhi Cantt, on September 20, 2023. The camp, which commenced on September 19, 2023, has brought together a remarkable assembly of 1,547 Cadets, consisting of 867 boys and 680 girls. These Cadets hail from 17 NCC Directorates, encompassing all states and union territories of India.
The All India Thal Sainik Camp, spanning 12 days, promises a plethora of exciting and challenging activities for the participating Cadets. These activities include competitive events in disciplines such as shooting, obstacle training, map reading, and various other professional training competitions.
Addressing the assembled Cadets during the inauguration, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh extended a warm welcome to the young participants. He underscored the significance of the camp, emphasizing that it offers a unique opportunity for Cadets to experience a life filled with adventure, discipline, and honor. Furthermore, the camp aims to instill a profound sense of leadership and camaraderie among the participants.
The overarching objective of the All India Thal Sainik Camp is to provide Cadets with exposure to the fundamental aspects of Army Wing Training. Beyond that, it seeks to foster a competitive spirit, cultivate a strong sense of discipline, promote leadership skills, and contribute to national integration among the young and enthusiastic participants.
