On the evening of November 22, 2023, a thorough and intensive checking campaign was undertaken across all police stations and outposts in District Durg under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri Ram Gopal Garg, along with Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Shri Abhishek Jha, and Additional Superintendent of Police, Rural, Shri Ananth Kumar. The campaign was aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring road safety.
The comprehensive drive focused on cracking down on various traffic violations, including individuals carrying knives, three-rider nomads, hitchhikers, and motorists with modified silencers. The synchronized action conducted simultaneously across all police station areas created a sense of vigilance among miscreants and individuals displaying suspicious behavior.
During the extensive checking campaign, the authorities took strict measures against more than 226 drivers throughout the entire Durg district. Specifically, 38 drivers identified as vagabonds and 3 passengers without proper documents faced immediate consequences as their vehicles were seized and brought before the court for further proceedings.
Moreover, the initiative led to the confiscation of 06 modified silencers, addressing the issue of loud sound bullets. Additionally, over 150 drivers were issued challans under the Motor Vehicle Act for various violations identified during the checks.
The campaign’s strategic placement of checkpoints around sensitive areas and known raiding sites facilitated an effective and thorough examination of vehicles, ensuring a comprehensive scrutiny of the traffic and individuals involved.
This stringent action reflects the commitment of the Durg Police to uphold law and order and maintain road safety standards within the district.
