Chhattisgarhi artist and Congress leader, Dilip Shadangi, recently announced his resignation from the Congress party along with relinquishing his post as the Chairman of the Cultural Cell. Shadangi expressed his dissatisfaction and accused the party of neglect.
In a detailed letter addressed to PCC Chief Deepak Baij, Shadangi highlighted his initial aspiration upon joining the Congress party five and a half years ago. His intention was to serve both the artists within the Congress and contribute to the party’s progress through artistic means. However, Shadangi lamented a lack of support and action from the party during his tenure.
Shadangi dedicated his efforts over the past five years to composing and performing songs in support of the Congress and tirelessly organizing events such as the artists’ conference. Despite continual appeals to esteemed figures within the party, including the Chief Minister and Culture Minister, Shadangi mentioned receiving only verbal assurances without any substantial support.
This alleged neglect resulted in a noticeable exodus of artists from Chhattisgarh from the party’s cultural cell, leading to repercussions that affected the party.
In light of these circumstances, Dilip Shadangi took the decision to step down from all responsibilities associated with his roles as the State President of the Cultural Cell within the Congress and formally resigned from the primary membership of the party. He respectfully submitted his resignation letter, urging acceptance of the same.
The resignation of a prominent figure like Shadangi brings attention to the internal dynamics of the Congress in Chhattisgarh, raising concerns about the support and engagement of artists within the party’s framework.
This development suggests potential shifts within the cultural and leadership landscape of the Congress in Chhattisgarh, warranting attention and further exploration into the party’s engagement with its cultural leaders and constituents.
