Cashify, a popular online marketplace for buying and selling used phones, has recently come under fire for their questionable refund practices. One consumer, who bought three phones from Cashify at prices above market value, experienced significant issues with their orders and refund process.
The consumer first ordered a used phone for 8499 without using a coupon code. Two days later, they ordered another Oneplus phone for 8999 and used a coupon code for a 500/- discount. However, both orders failed the company’s 32 point quality check and were cancelled, with the consumer receiving a refund email for the second phone. When they reached out to Cashify’s support on Twitter, they were told there was a “technical error” and the issue had been corrected.
After the consumer attempted to order a third phone, it too failed the quality check and the order was cancelled with no refund confirmation. The consumer reached out to Cashify’s payment gateway, Razorpay, and was told that Cashify did not have funds in their account to process the refund. When the consumer reached out to Cashify on Twitter, they were given a vague response and no update on the refund.
This raised suspicions that Cashify may be struggling financially and unable to process refunds. The consumer also expressed concerns that other customers may have lost money in the name of a refund, calling it a potential scam.
Due to these issues, the consumer stated they would not purchase from Cashify again and cited the company’s failure to pass their own 32 point quality check and their inability to process refunds as reasons for their decision.
It is important to note that Cashify has not officially announced any financial troubles or bankruptcy. However, these reports raise concerns about the company’s refund practices and credibility as a trusted marketplace for used phones. Customers are advised to proceed with caution when making purchases from Cashify and to closely monitor their refund process.
