The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, has announced major changes in the governor appointments and resignations across the country. The President has accepted the resignations of Bhagat Singh Koshyari, former Governor of Maharashtra, and Radha Krishna Mathur, former Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
In response to these changes, the President has approved the appointment of new governors in 13 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Ladakh. The new appointments bring a mix of experienced politicians, former military officials, and retired judges to their respective offices.

- Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh
- Lakshman Prasad Acharya, appointed as Governor of Sikkim
- C.P. Radhakrishnan, appointed as Governor of Jharkhand
- Shiv Pratap Shukla, appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh
- Gulab Chand Kataria, appointed as Governor of Assam
- Shri Justice (Retd.) S. Abdul Nazeer, appointed as Governor of Andhra Pradesh
- Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh
- Anusuiya Uikye, appointed as Governor of Manipur
- La. Ganesan, appointed as Governor of Nagaland
- Phagu Chauhan, appointed as Governor of Meghalaya
- Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, appointed as Governor of Bihar
- Ramesh Bais, appointed as Governor of Maharashtra
- Brig. (Dr.) Shri B.D. Mishra (Retd.), appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
The appointments will come into effect from the date that the respective governor assumes charge of their office. The President’s decision is expected to bring fresh perspectives and new leadership to the governor positions across the country.
