In a substantial operation, Raigarh Police, in collaboration with the Cyber Cell and Kotwali Police, apprehended three individuals involved in illegal liquor trade. The operation resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of liquor and the arrest of the accused.
The seized items include 345 liters of mahua liquor and 30 pouches of Golden Goa, along with the apprehension of suspects Lakhan Sahu (20 years) and Mithlesh Yadav (20 years), who were found transporting the illegal liquor consignment. They were arrested while traveling on a motorcycle, Hero HF Deluxe CG 13 D 6753, carrying 300ml and 180ml mahua liquor pouches.
Upon further investigation and interrogation, the accused provided information about their associate, Madan Sundar Dhoba, who was involved in the illegal liquor business and was waiting for their arrival. The police team, led by Kotwali TI Shanip Ratre, conducted a raid and arrested Madan Sundar Dhoba.
In total, 344.68 liters of country mahua liquor and 30 pouches of Golden Goa liquor, stored in plastic jerkins, sacks, and cartoons, were confiscated from the possession of the accused. The three individuals arrested were identified as Madan Sundar Dhoba, Lakhan Sahu, and Mithlesh Yadav.
The arrests and seizure were made in accordance with sections 34(2) and 59(a) of the Excise Act at Bagbahra Jashpur Police Station Kotwali. The operation was carried out under the direction of SSP Sadanand Kumar, with the dedicated efforts of the police personnel from various units, including the Cyber Cell and Kotwali Police. This successful operation demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to combating illegal liquor trade and ensuring the safety of the community.
