Raipur, Chhattisgarh – A violent altercation occurred on the Sarerah National Highway in the capital city, where young men and women were seen fighting. The incident allegedly began after a group of intoxicated youths drove their car at high speed, leading to a dispute with another car driver over overtaking. This confrontation escalated into a physical brawl involving both male and female individuals. The entire incident was captured on video and has gone viral on social media.
The Telibandha police station has registered a case against both parties involved in the brawl. As a result, 10 individuals have been arrested, and three cars have been seized. The incident took place between midnight and 12:15 AM near Jora Over Bridge.
According to the complaint filed at the Telibandha police station, the fight erupted over a vehicular dispute, with charges including sections 294, 323, 341, 506, and 147 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complainant, Dimple Israni, reported that the incident involved seven accused who have been arrested.

The accused involved in the case are:
- Akash Sharma (son of Praveer Sharma)
- Rahul Vaishnav (son of Baleshwar Vaishnav)
- Gautam Singh Rajput (son of Mangal Singh)
- Ravi Bharti (son of Ravikumar Bharti)
- Asima Lal (daughter of Asit Lal)
- Apoorva Bhattacharya (daughter of Ashish Bhattacharya)
- Ajay Mahapatra (son of Jugal Mahapatra)
All of these accused were found hiding in Amlidih after the incident. They were arrested by the police, and Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act was added to the case since the accused and the driver were under the influence of alcohol. Two cars, a Swift Dezire with registration number MP 18 CA 0965 and a Swift with registration number CG 04 HX 9519, were also seized.
In another case, the Telibandha police registered crime number 644/23 under sections 294, 323, 506, and 34 IPC based on the report filed by the victim Rawari Bharti. She reported being assaulted and sustaining injuries from a bite.
The accused involved in the second case are:
- Shailesh Ishrani (son of Naresh Ishrani)
- Dimple Israni (wife of Shailesh Israni)
- Akash Sachdev (son of Ashok Sachdev)
All three accused are residents of Mahavir Nagar. In this case, Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act was also added since the accused driver was found driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, an EcoSport vehicle with registration number CG 04 NF 3400 was seized.
This incident of fighting comes after a similar incident involving three intoxicated girls who created a ruckus in the Telibandha area of Raipur a day earlier. Their car first collided with another vehicle and then with a car coming from behind, leading to a heated altercation. A video of the incident was circulated on social media, and one party filed a report at the Telibandha police station.
