In a significant development during BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in Chhattisgarh, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma addressed a massive gathering in Navagarh town, Navagarh assembly. The Parivartan Yatra, which has covered hundreds of kilometers and witnessed numerous public meetings, welcome events, and roadshows, reached Navagarh, where a substantial public meeting took place at the city’s bus stand ground.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma extended warm wishes for Ganesh Chaturthi and conveyed his commitment to bringing about change in Chhattisgarh. He drew parallels between Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, and his determination to remove the perceived corrupt government of Chhattisgarh led by Bhupesh Baghel.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sharma congratulated the women in the audience, highlighting that on the occasion of Teej, the Modi government had provided 33% reservation for women. He emphasized the spirit of collaboration between Chhattisgarh and Assam, citing instances where leaders from both states had worked together for social upliftment.
Speaking about the ongoing Parivartan Yatra, Chief Minister Sharma noted that the journey began in the sacred land of Maa Danteshwari and would conclude in the holy land of Maa Mahamaya. He invoked blessings from the divine goddesses Maa Danteshwari, Maa Mahamaya, and Maa Kamakhya in Assam for the well-being of the people and expressed his hope for a BJP government to be established in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Sharma criticized the Chhattisgarh government led by Bhupesh Baghel, accusing it of making unfulfilled promises to the public. He highlighted that despite swearing on the Ganga’s water, the government had not delivered on key pledges, including alcohol prohibition, unemployment allowance, and women’s safety.
Regarding the support price for paddy, Chief Minister Sharma clarified that the central government provided ₹2100, while the state government contributed only ₹400. He urged Bhupesh Baghel to present the complete truth to the public and fulfill promises of employment generation and self-employment opportunities for the youth.
Chief Minister Sharma also addressed concerns about attacks on Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism) and urged unity among communities. He asserted that Hinduism would endure and called for respectful discourse among religious groups.
The event featured key BJP leaders, including State General Secretary Kedar Kashyap, District Incharge Lakhanlal Sahu, Assembly Incharge Tokhan Sahu, and various other dignitaries. Several MLAs, divisional in-charges, and BJP leaders also addressed the gathering, reinforcing their commitment to change and good governance in Chhattisgarh.
