Bullet Train: Chhattisgarh received 4000 ton TMT bars from Bhilai Steel Plant

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), a subsidiary of Steel Authority of India (SAIL), has supplied 4,000 tonnes of TMT bars for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor project, bringing the total to 105,000 tonnes. The TMT bars, which are 9 meters in length and 16 mm in diameter, were produced at the plant’s Bar and Rod Mill, which has supplied over 3,000 TMT bars to meet the specific length requirement of the project. The MAHSR project is mostly elevated, featuring viaducts, bridges, maintenance depots, tunnels, earth structures, and stations. The trains will run at a speed of 320 kms per hour, covering a distance of 508 kms and stopping at 12 stations. The journey between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will take just 2 hours and 7 minutes. At least 475 kms of the project will be viaducts while 26 kms will be in tunnels. Other earth structures will be 7-km long. There will be 12 stations and three depots in the project.
