In Jagdalpur, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a dismissed Patwari who had been absconding with important documents for two years. The Patwari was promptly arrested following the registration of the FIR. During the arrest, the police also seized revenue-related documents from the Patwari.
According to CSP Vikas Kumar, the case was initiated based on a complaint filed by the former Tehsildar, Pushparaj Patra. In the complaint, it was stated that Patwari Premkant Pandey had gone missing along with documents pertaining to the Revenue Department. Despite multiple attempts to contact Patwari Premkant Pandey after his suspension from the Jagdalpur Tehsil Office, there was no response. The newly appointed Patwari was unable to obtain the government documents, including the revenue record map, Khasra, and B-1 related to Dharampura Patwari Halka No.30. The charge of these documents was not transferred to the newly appointed Patwari as well. Subsequently, a case was registered against Patwari under Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and he was apprehended. Additionally, revenue department documents were confiscated from the Patwari.
After the arrest, Patwari was produced in court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The arrest and legal proceedings aim to address the alleged misappropriation of revenue department documents by the dismissed Patwari and his failure to cooperate in handing over the necessary records to his successor.
