An Indian Air Force MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed into a home in a village in Rajasthan, killing three people and injuring three others. The incident occurred during a routine exercise after the aircraft took off from the Suratgarh airbase. The crash happened near Bahlol Nagar in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh due to a technical malfunction. Fortunately, the pilot ejected from the aircraft in time and sustained minor injuries.
The Indian Air Force quickly responded to the situation and sent a helicopter to rescue the pilot. According to the IAF, the pilot experienced an onboard emergency and attempted to recover the aircraft according to standard procedures. However, when the attempt failed, the pilot initiated an ejection.
An inquiry has been ordered by the IAF to determine the cause of the crash. The police have launched a rescue operation in the area where the aircraft had crashed. The pilot did everything possible to prevent human casualties and was able to crash-land the plane on the outskirts of the village, according to Om Prakash, Inspector General of Police in Bikaner.
