On the concluding day of the three-day national research seminar organized by the Archaeological Archives and Museum in Raipur, participating scholars had the opportunity to explore the Purkhauti Muktangan Muktakashi Museum located in Nava Raipur Upwara. Dr. P.C. Parakh, Deputy Director and in-charge of the seminar, provided insights into the establishment of the museum and recounted the visit of former President Dr. APJ Kalam Azad to the site.
Assistant Engineer Shri Pokharaj Puri Goswami led the research scholars on a journey through the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. The scholars visited various cultural landmarks, starting from Chhattisgarh Chowk and continuing to Gotool, Devguri, Jatra, Ghanasar, and the residences of tribal communities constructed in Amcho Bastar. The tour then extended to the residential complexes of the Surguja block, encompassing Ramgarh caves, Surguja Rajmahal, Deepadih Temple, and Rajwar Griha. Detailed explanations of the exhibits and their historical significance were provided throughout the excursion.
During the closing session of the seminar, eminent experts shared their experiences and insights. Dr. Sanjib Kumar Singh, a museologist from the National Museum in New Delhi, Dr. G.S. Khwaja, a numismatist and epigraphist from Nagpur, Prof. SK Chahal from Kurukshetra University, and Dr. Ananda Bhattacharya, a former officer of Kolkata State Archives and Principal of Mainpur College, offered valuable perspectives. They described the seminar as highly beneficial for future research and provided inspiration to the present generation of researchers. Expressing their gratitude, the seminar’s Deputy Director, Dr. JR Bhagat, presented a memorandum of appreciation, and the program was skillfully conducted by Archaeologist Prabhat Kumar Singh. The success of the program was further bolstered by the contributions of Dr. Vrishottam Sahu, Praveen Tirkey, Tapas Basak, Rajiv Minj, Sameer Tallu, Mukesh Joshi, Arun Nirmalkar, and other dedicated employees.
