Durg, India – The Durg police have made a major breakthrough in the recent theft of crores of rupees from the house of Pankaj Rathi, a relative of former minister and BJP MLA Brijmohan Agarwal. The police have arrested four suspects in the case, who were found to be hiding in Goa.
According to reports, the police were able to recover goods and cash worth more than Rs. 3 crore from the accused individuals. The suspects have also admitted to committing thefts at four other houses, totalling over one crore rupees.
The theft occurred on February 7th at Pankaj Rathi’s home in Old Adarsh Nagar Fort. Pankaj Rathi is a civil contractor and a close relative of former minister Brijmohan Agarwal. He had left his home to attend the wedding of Brijmohan Agarwal’s daughter, locking the house with his entire family. Upon his return, he found that the lock had been broken and the house had been ransacked.
The thieves stole approximately three kilograms of gold, 18 kilograms of silver jewelry, and Rs. 10 lakh in cash from the house. In response to the high-profile theft, SP Durg assigned a team from the crime branch to investigate the case. After following leads and piecing together the evidence, the police were able to track down and arrest the four suspects.
This arrest marks a significant victory for the Durg police and a step forward in the effort to protect the citizens and their property. The police have assured the public that they will continue to work diligently to bring all perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
