Korba Police have cracked the case of ASI Narendra Singh Parihar’s murder, which took place just a day after Holi. According to a press release issued by the police, the killers were locals who confessed to the crime during interrogation.
After the murder of ASI Narendra Singh Parihar on March 9, the station in-charge Bango informed senior police officers of the district. Superintendent of Police Mr. Uday Kiran, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhishek Verma, Sub-Divisional Officer Police Katghora Mr. Ishwar Trivedi, Forensic Team, Dog Squad, and Cyber Cell team reached the spot and closely inspected it. Inspector General of Police Mr. BN Meena, Bilaspur Range also inspected the spot and gave necessary guidelines.
The police registered a case under crime number 46/2023 Section 458, 302 Bhadvi in Thana Bango and constituted a team to nab the unknown accused. The FSL team, dog squad Korba, and joint cyber team of Bilaspur inspected the spot and engaged in their respective work to trace the unknown accused. The joint cyber team was closely investigating the case, and on the basis of technical analysis, the suspect Karan Giri was arrested.
During interrogation, Karan Giri initially denied involvement in the incident, but later confessed to the murder. He stated that the deceased Sauni Narendra Singh Parihar had sent him to jail for a liquor case in December and had stopped him from playing DJ during the Holi festival. In retaliation, he attacked Parihar with a sharp weapon and fled the scene.
Based on witness statements, inspection of the crime scene, PM report, seized evidence, and technical evidence, Karan Giri’s father Rajkumar Giri was also found to be involved in the crime. Both were presented to the Honorable Court on judicial remand after being duly arrested, and the case was deemed non-bailable.
