Congress Leader and MP Representative Sushil Maurya had a physical altercation with CSP Vikas Kumar (IPS) in Jagdalpur, resulting in chaos at the city police station. The dispute reportedly started with an argument between the two, which escalated quickly, leading to them physically assaulting each other. Police personnel and other Congress workers intervened, and a ruckus started in the police station. A large number of Congress workers are still present in the police station.
The incident occurred after a Congress worker informed Sushil Maurya that CSP Vikas Kumar had kicked him inside City Kotwali. Sushil Maurya went to the police station to inquire about the incident, where he reportedly had an argument with the CSP. The situation worsened, and both individuals ended up assaulting each other. However, no statement has come out from the police officers in this regard.
Activists have demanded an apology from CSP Vikas Kumar, and Congress workers are continuously entering the police station premises to demand that the CSP apologize. Keeping in mind the security of CSP Vikas Kumar, police officers have kept him in the chamber of City Kotwali in-charge, with soldiers deployed outside. In view of the tense situation, ASP, DSP, SHOs of nearby police stations have also been called for the occasion.
MLA Rekhchand Jain from Jagdalpur Assembly and District President of Congress Rajiv Sharma have also reached the spot and are talking to SP Jitendra Singh Meena. The situation remains tense, and it is unclear how the matter will be resolved.
