In yet another distressing incident, a minor was allegedly gang-raped in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The horrific incident took place in a multi-level parking lot, which notably houses the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). According to reports, the victim was raped by friends of her own boyfriend.
Police sources have confirmed the arrest of all the accused involved in the gang rape. The 17-year-old victim hails from a village near Raipur. She had accompanied her boyfriend to the multi-level parking lot at Jai Stambh Chowk to meet his friends.
Reportedly, the girl’s boyfriend left her briefly to attend to some work. During his absence, the individuals present at the location allegedly subjected the girl to rape. This incident follows a similar case that occurred around 20 days ago when two sisters were gang-raped in the Mandir Hasaud police station area of Raipur.
To detail the sequence of events, initial information suggests that one of the rape accused was responsible for handling contract work within the parking lot. Upon finding the girl alone, he took her to a guard room and allegedly committed the heinous act. Following the incident, the victim approached the Gol Bazaar police station to report the crime.
The police have taken swift action and apprehended three suspects in connection with the gang rape of the minor. The arrested individuals include a 35-year-old named Avinash Bahra from Arvind Nagar, a 31-year-old identified as Sikandar Jain from Kanker, and the third accused, Gaurav Raj.
