In a heart-wrenching incident, three young individuals lost their lives in a devastating road accident that occurred in the Daundi police station area of Balod district. The accident transpired when a speeding car collided with the motorcycle on which the three youths were traveling. The incident unfolded just 200 meters from the police barrier of the Daundi police station area.
The victims of this tragic accident were identified as Chhatrapal Korram (23), Jitesh Darro (26), and Chuneshwar Khursayam (28), all hailing from Jurhatola (Kuangondi) village. On the fateful evening, the trio had ventured into Daundi for some work, and as night fell, they embarked on their journey back home, all sharing the same motorcycle.
The grim turn of events occurred on the Daundi-Bhanupratappur main road when a speeding car crashed into their motorcycle with tremendous force. The impact of the collision caused all three young men to be thrown from their vehicle, resulting in severe injuries.
Tragically, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Promptly, upon receiving information from passersby, the police reached the accident site. Despite the swift response, the remaining two seriously injured youths could not be saved, and they too tragically lost their lives.
The car involved in the collision, a Brezza, was abandoned at the scene by the accused driver, who fled immediately following the accident. A search operation is currently underway to locate the driver. The vehicle is reported to be registered in the name of a local businessman from Balod.
The bodies of the three youths have been transferred to the appropriate medical facilities for postmortem examinations. Following the completion of the postmortems, the bodies will be returned to their respective families for the last rites.
The tragic incident has left the community in mourning, highlighting the urgent need for road safety measures and responsible driving.
