The weather across Chhattisgarh has been experiencing fluctuations lately, with distinctive conditions prevailing in various regions. Cloudy skies dominate Bastar division, resulting in a significant rise in the minimum temperature, approximately 6 degrees above the normal range from Kanker to Sukma. Notably, Dantewada and Bijapur recorded temperatures exceeding 22 degrees, while Raipur settled at 19 degrees. Conversely, several areas in Surguja noted temperatures as low as 10 degrees.
Meteorologist HP Chandra pointed out that an increase in cold conditions in Bastar division is expected only after the weather becomes drier. There won’t be any substantial change in temperatures around Raipur and its adjacent areas within the next 24 hours. This implies that the relief from cold might persist for another day or two. However, regions like Surguja, Balrampur, and Korea are currently experiencing notably cold weather, with forecasts indicating further drops in temperature in the upcoming days. While maximum and minimum temperatures have soared in the plains, Ambikapur witnessed a dip in the mercury to 10.8 degrees. Conversely, Durg marked the highest maximum temperature at 31.4 degrees.
November is on the verge of conclusion, yet Raipur hasn’t experienced minimum temperatures nearing 17 degrees even once. Although historically, the capital tends to get colder in the last fortnight of November, this year has seen relatively milder temperatures even during the nights. Meteorological experts anticipate a weather shift in the next couple of days.
