Abhanpur-Vishakhapatnam: In the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding the NH-130 CD (NHAI Scam) project under the BHARATMALA initiative, farmers in Abhanpur continue to assert their demands for fair compensation as NHAI officials’ visit to the region gets postponed. The farmers’ resolve to fight against the delayed compensation has grown stronger, prompting them to plan a meeting with NHAI officials and BJP farmer leader Gouri Shankaer Shrivas on the 7th of this month.
Since 2020, the farmers of Abhanpur took a proactive stance, offering their land for the NHAI AVN government’s project, with the expectation of receiving just compensation in return. However, despite the completion of the work, the promised funds have yet to be provided, mirroring the struggles faced by farmers in Bilaspur over the past decade in their battles with AVN NHAI.
The farmers of Abhanpur refuse to suffer the same fate as their counterparts in Bilaspur and are determined to secure their rights and seek justice. The tactics employed by AVN NHAI to deceive the farmers have left them feeling frustrated and betrayed. The assurances made by Hardin SDM and NHAI officials regarding fair treatment have proven empty, as innocent farmers continue to be subjected to daily acts of deception.
Taking a bold stand against this injustice, the farmers have decided to bring construction work to a complete halt from 03/07/2023 until the government and NHAI fulfill their commitments and provide the rightful compensation for land acquisition.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the scheduled visit of NHAI officials to Abhanpur has been postponed. Undeterred, the farmers are now preparing to meet the NHAI officials visiting from Delhi on the 7th of this month. Joining them in their pursuit of justice will be BJP farmer leader Gouri Shankaer Shrivas, who has been actively supporting the farmers’ cause.
The farmers of Abhanpur are eagerly awaiting the upcoming meeting, where they will present their demands for fair compensation and seek immediate action. Their determination to secure their rightful dues has forced the road construction work to a standstill, emphasizing the power of their collective protest against the delayed land acquisition compensation.
As the anticipation grows, the farmers of Abhanpur call upon all fellow farmers to join forces in raising their voices against this ongoing injustice. Their unity and resilience serve as a strong message to NHAI and the government, urging them to fulfill their promises and provide the long-awaited compensation for the land acquired.
The situation in Abhanpur remains tense, with farmers holding steadfast to their demands and preparing to engage in a crucial meeting with NHAI officials and BJP farmer leader Gouri Shankaer Shrivas on the 7th of this month.
