The election fervor in Chhattisgarh is gaining momentum as the scrutiny of nomination papers for the first phase of the Assembly Elections in 2023 has concluded. A total of 253 candidates have been deemed eligible to contest the elections out of the 294 who filed their nominations by the October 20 deadline.
In the first phase of the Assembly Elections, spanning 20 assembly constituencies, candidates from various regions have successfully secured their nominations. The validated nominations are distributed across constituencies as follows: 14 in Antagarh, 15 in Bhanupratappur, 10 in Kanker, 10 in Keshkal, 10 in Kondagaon, 9 in Narayanpur, 8 in Bastar, 13 in Jagdalpur, 7 in Chitrakote, 7 in Dantewada, 10 in Bijapur, and 9 in Konta.
Additionally, nominations in the following constituencies have been confirmed: 11 in Khairagarh, 13 in Dongargarh, 35 in Rajnandgaon, 15 in Dongargaon, 10 in Khujji, 10 in Mohla-Manpur, 21 in Kawardha, and 16 in Pandariya.
The race for these assembly seats has intensified, with candidates from various political backgrounds vying for the opportunity to represent their respective constituencies. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations for the first phase is October 23, and the first phase of voting is scheduled for November 7, with the counting of votes taking place on December 3.
