Raigarh witnessed swift police action as a case was immediately filed against four security guards from Jindal Company who allegedly assaulted contract workers protesting outside the Jindal Industry premises. The guards have been placed on judicial remand following the incident.
The matter came to light on December 21, 2023, when the contract laborers, in the midst of their protests, faced aggression from the Jindal Company security guards. Sadanand Chauhan sustained head injuries, while Durga Charan Patel was struck on his leg with a stick during the altercation. Subsequently, Sadanand Chauhan’s father, Manbodhi Chauhan, promptly filed a case (Crime Number 578/23, Section 307 IPC) at the Kotra Road police station, identifying the four security guards responsible for the altercation.
The accused security guards identified as Sandeep Yadav, Alauddin, Rajesh Kumar, and Ganesh Kumar Chauhan were swiftly taken into custody by the authorities and subsequently placed on judicial remand. The accused individuals’ residences and personal details have been recorded in the case.
The district administration and police department promptly intervened upon receiving information about the incident, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring law and order. Officials have asserted that stringent legal action will be taken against those disrupting public order.
