A BJP leader in Chhattisgarh, India was murdered by Maoists with sharp weapons while attending a wedding in his ancestral village. The leader, Neelkanth Kakkem, had been the BJP president of Usoor Block for 15 years. According to police, three Maoists in plain clothes carried out the attack while a larger group of over 150 Maoists had arrived in the village. An investigation into the incident is underway.
