Raipur Police have apprehended four individuals believed to be supporters of Khalistan, following a rally held by the group. Harpreet Singh, Diler Singh, Maninder Singh, and Harvinder Singh have been arrested under several sections of the law, including 147, 153, and 505. The rally was reportedly held in response to the action taken against Amritpal Singh in Punjab, with the Khalistan supporters raising anti-national slogans. Starting from Telibandha Gurudwara, the rally proceeded to the Aam Aadmi Party office in Panchsheel Nagar. In response, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel issued a strong statement condemning such activities, and the Raipur Police acted swiftly to prevent any further breaches of public peace.
Using footage from CCTV cameras and video bytes from the rally, the Raipur Police identified the accused and took them into custody. The incident has generated considerable debate in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, with MLA Ajay Chandrakar demanding clarity from the government. The Civil Lines police station has issued notices to the individuals involved in the rally, requiring them to respond by 11 am on Thursday. It is worth noting that the rally was held without prior permission, and the protestors allegedly burned an effigy and raised slogans in front of the Aam Aadmi Party office.
