Chhattisgarh Cabinet Minister Kawasi Lakhma recently distributed prizes to the winners of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Games and the second installment under the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Scheme at Kumharras Status Shabri Auditorium. The prize distribution program was organized to encourage and acknowledge the efforts of youth development and sports promotion in the state.
In total, a prize distribution amount of Rs. 47.44 lakh was given to the winners of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Games 2022-23, and a check of Rs. 40.50 lakh was provided for the second installment under 162 Mitan Club Scheme of the district. Cabinet Minister Kawasi Lakhma praised the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government in promoting the welfare of farmers, unemployment allowance, Tendupatta bonus amount, purchase of paddy, purchase of cow dung, and millet crops for the unemployed.
Mr. Lakhma said, “It has been the intention of the state government that every person of the state should get the benefit of the welfare schemes. Due to the untiring efforts of the district administration, today the common people of sensitive areas are being given the benefits of other schemes including ration card, Aadhaar card by organizing camps.”
The program was attended by various public representatives, officers, and employees. District Panchayat President Harish Kawasi emphasized the importance of sports for a healthy life and appealed to include sports activities in daily life to stay healthy and fit. He also stressed the importance of tree plantation for the protection of the environment.
Municipality President Jaganna Sahu acknowledged the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government in preserving traditional and local sports through the Chhattisgarhia Olympic Games organized through Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitan Club.
The event was a testament to the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to promoting youth development and sports in the state. The efforts of the government have led to the recognition of traditional and local sports, thereby providing a platform for the youth to showcase their sporting skills.
